End-of-Life and Migration of BSNEE and BSN, and End of OS Support for Series 3 Players
We’re officially announcing the upcoming End-of-Life (EOL) for the following legacy platforms: BrightSign Network Enterprise Edition (BSNEE) and BrightSign Network (BSN). In addition, we’re also communicating that our Series 3 players will no longer receive OS support for new updates after the release of BrightSignOS™ 9.1.

What’s Changing?
If you’re using BrightSign Network Enterprise Edition (BSNEE):

| Maintenance renewals will stop after December 2025. | Confirm your player models and ensure all devices are online and up to date. |
| Older players (Series 2 and below) are not supported on BrightSign Control (formerly bsn.Control) and BrightSign Author Plus (formerly bsn.Content). | Schedule a migration planning call with your BrightSign account executive or support to review details and next steps. |
If you’re using BrightSign Network (BSN):

Why are these services/products being retired?
BSNEE, BSN, and brightAuthor classic are built on legacy technology that is not compatible with the current generation of players. BSNEE, BSN, and brightAuthor classic will NOT support Series 6 players.
Series 3 players will reach end-of-life support for new OS updates after BrightSignOS 9.1. However, they’ll still work offline for the life of the product and remain compatible with BrightSign Author Plus (formerly bsn.Content) — until future changes to BrightSign Author Plus, BrightSignOS, or BrightSign Author (formerly brightAuthor connected) make them incompatible. We recommend that users relying on BrightSign Author Plus-connected players start planning to replace their Series 3 devices with newer BrightSign models as soon as possible.

How will my subscription change by migrating?
BSN customers will see no change in subscription pricing when moving to BrightSign Control (formerly bsn.Control) and BrightSign Author Plus (formerly bsn.Content).

What security features and certifications are available with BrightSign Control and BrightSign Author Plus?
BrightSign Control (formerly bsn.Control) and BrightSign Author Plus (formerly bsn.Content) support Single Sign On (SSO) and our platform is SOC2 level 2 compliant.

Will there be downtime during migration?
We have designed the migration process to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth transition. Downtime will depend on the size and complexity of the network.

We own and run our BSNEE infrastructure, can we continue to use it?
The system will not stop working, but, no further updates will be made, and BrightSign support will not be able to assist with troubleshooting any issues that may require engineering involvement. You are strongly encouraged to migrate to a newer, supported platform.
